Organ donation is important to me because my husband, Marty, was a donor. Two years ago, when Marty died unexpectedly, his corneas, skin, and several other organs were donated. I later received a letter from a young man who received a skin graft on his arm from Marty’s donation. The young man explained that my husband’s skin graft was a perfect match and a blessing from God. That day I realized the importance of organ donation and how it can contribute to the lives of others. My husband was a kind, caring, giving man and he would be so happy to know that even in death, he is still helping others. For those who are unsure, please strongly consider donation. You never know how many lives you will touch.
