Experience the Blessing Difference: Cardiovascular Unit (CVU)

There are many benefits to a CVU with a universal bed concept. These benefits include:

  • Commitment To Excellence: Our Blessing Hospital Cardiovascular Unit is recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.

  • Better patient-provider communication: You receive care from the same nursing staff throughout your stay. This continuity of care improves patient safety by reducing the risk of miscommunication and errors.

  • Enhanced patient monitoring: We provide around-the-clock specialized care, including 24-hour heart monitoring. We respond immediately to patient needs.

  • Centralized care: Our nursing staff has advanced training in cardiac medicine and critical care. We care for patients from preoperative procedures to critical care to discharge. There is no need for you to change rooms or hospital units.

  • Teamwork: You receive compassionate care from a team of dedicated heart experts, including cardiologists, cardiovascular and surgical nurses, respiratory therapists, clinical care coordinators, dietitians, pharmacists and social workers.

  • Privacy: All of our CVU rooms are single-bed, private rooms. Here, you get the rest you need to heal and recover. You also can have confidential conversations with your health team and loved ones.

  • Care that focuses on you: We treat our patients like family. You will see the same familiar, helpful faces at your appointments and throughout your course of treatment.
